Vivekananda Nursing Institute situated at Faridpur, Contai, is started in the year 2022 with B.Sc Nursing and GNM programmes, This college is approved by Government of West Bengal,, West Bengal Nursing Council, the University of West Bengal Health Sciences and applied for affiliation of Indian Nursing Council. Vivekananda Nursing Institute is a constituent unit of Vivekanada Loksiksha Niketan (Non-Governmental Organization), Contai, Purba Medinipur. The curriculum has been planned to provide in depth knowledge to enable the graduates to function effectively in various nursing situations, also prepare to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in clinical/public health setting.
We give personal attention to each student and emphasize on etiquettes, maintain high degree of discipline and abide the code of conduct which reflects the dignifying behavior in the campus.

Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre. Registered ANM with pass mark. Admission of students shall be once in a year. Students shall be medically fit. |

Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing). Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates. Candidate shall be medically fit. Married candidates are also eligible for admission. Students shall be admitted once in a year. Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks. Student shall be admitted once in a year. |
Lecture Halls
The college has sufficient and specious lecture halls for each batch. They are well ventilated. The desks are well spaced out. Each lecture hall has the facility to use latest Audio-Visual teaching aids.
We have spacious with fully equipped laboratories where various procedures have been demonstrated to students and allowed students to practice. Aim is to give complete practical training in each department to develop their knowledge and skill.

Computer lab and Pre clinical Science laboratories (Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology) are in our Institute excellently equipped with latest technology where students can learn and enhance their knowledge.
Nursing Foundation Lab
This lab is well-equipped with 10 beds & set of all items needed for Nursing procedure practice to provide comprehensive nursing care to clients admitted in the hospitals, Students will be given preliminary training in patient care at the college laboratory.
Nutrition Lab:
Nutrition Lab is equipped & well furnished with utensils & nutritional charts. It is well ventilated, lighting & adequate water facilities. The students can assess the nutritional needs, caloric requirement of different age groups and during various disease conditions.
It is well-equipped with models & specimens, all the bones, skeleton & subject related charts etc. The students are encouraged to use our Anatomy lab to learn Anatomy of bone & joints & other systems.
Community Health Nursing Lab:
This lab ensures that the students learn home visiting bag technique & practice the community health nursing while providing family health care at the door step of the clients using modified home visiting kits.
Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Lab:
The MCH Lab is equipped with maternity examination model, gynecological examination model, delivery model, charts & other equipment. Child Health nursing Lab is having models, charts & various play therapy material, Here students learn about all the nursing care skills essential for the care of the newborn, infants & children.
Computer Lab-
We have a fully equipped computer laboratory with multimedia, internet facilities. Students are encouraged to utilize it to maximum.
Advance Science Lab:
The aim of this Lab is to provide best practical knowledge in advance Nursing procedures under the guidance of experts in subjects. We have BLS practice section to teach good quality CPR.
